GPE protocol

By implementing this GPE protocol, it is possible to physically connect the POS system (via RS232, USB, Ethernet or Wi-Fi depending on the type of terminal) or any other system with Ingenico Telium2, Tetra or Nexgo payment terminals and their financial applications. The terminal can be instructed for several types of transactions and virtually controlled for payment from an external system. Below you will find implementation documents for in-store terminals (desktop and mobile) and for self-service terminals.

Desktop/mobile terminals:

The document contains a detailed technical specification of the communication protocol between the terminal and the POS system.

If your system is running on the Windows operating system, we have prepared libraries for faster and easier implementation of the communication protocol.

Self-service terminals:

By implementing this GPE protocol, a kiosk/self-service system or any other system can be connected to Ingenico iSelf self-service payment terminals (iUC160B, iUC180B or iUP250 triplet) and their financial application. The terminal can be instructed for several types of transactions and virtually controlled for payment from an external system. 

The payment solution for self-service kiosks or vending machines is integrated using the POS2EPS application, which is installed directly into the device and acts as a server to which the system and the payment terminal connect.
