What is a batch? Every transaction you create belongs to a so-called batch. Each batch, like a receipt, has a number and is actually a package of transactions. A closing is an administrative operation by which the terminal closes each batch and notifies the systems to close the batch and open a new one. Thus, in other Global Payments systems, it is possible to see the batch number for each transaction and it is possible to filter transactions by batch.
In the app, you can trigger a deadline by tapping the “Make Deadline” button in the “Deadlines” tab on the main screen:

The open batch is colored yellow. Tapping on it will display a detail with an overview of all totals and payments in the open batch. Tap on „Make Closure“ to close it.
In the open batch detail, you can see a summary of the totals of all transactions by payment method and a list of all payments in the open batch below.
When a batch is closed, the closed batch will be displayed in a summary of all historical closures. Tapping on each of them will again show you the totals and then the individual transactions further down the page.
